While this is still just a rumor apparently WWE has contracted Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to a one night contract for the RAW 15th anniversary show, which is unclear as to if he will wrestle. Hopefully this rumor is completely true (which seems quite possible as all the promos for the anniversary show feature alot of The Rock) and would round out a great few weeks of wrestling with some solid ppv’s and RAW’s as well as the return of Y2J. So what do you guys think is this just wishfull thinking or will we see The Rock one more time?

The Champ, we can only hope. I wonder if they would advertise him for the ratings?
I’ve stopped holding out hope that The Rock is ever gonna come back even for a Austin like one night thing. In interviews he always speaks as if his wrestling days are way behind him. In fact from now on I will only refer to him as “Hollywood Rock”. Maybe he’ll do another Titantron video but I doubt he’ll show up there live.
But on the other hand since his new movie “Southland Tales” is being absolutely trashed as one of the worst movie in years by the critics maybe he’ll be looking for way to promote it to his old fans.
I have a friend saying this for about 2 weeks already and I been calling him an idiot. If the Rock shows up I’ll be the idiot!
el nagual I don’t have the patience to look up which RAW open thread I posted it but it’s been close to a month since I said
“anyone else think that RAW Anniversary promo is hinting at a Rock return for one night?”
I’m still not convinced but it sure seems like they’re hinting at it.
Also just as an addition – The Rock is a movie star but right now he’s just a guy w/o a job. As far as I know he has nothing going on and with the strike he isn’t doing anything either so a big money one night stint on the E 15th Anniversary Show shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
The Rock has plenty to do he’s got a couple of movies in pre-production right now the scripts have already been written so the strike really doesn’t effect him at all.
But it does look like there’s gonna be a Screen Actors Guild strike some time next year so maybe then he’ll come back for a few months.
I don’t think The Rock turning up for one night on RAW is a stretch at all, it will be alot of money for him for little work, he has hosted award ceremonies, e.t.c since leaving the WWE and would this be any diffrent as I doubt he would have to actually wrestle just do some mic work and possibly hit a peoples elbow.
Also as jd has been saying the anniversary promos are hinting at The Rock and it would end the year on a huge high for the WWE after a horrific year capped by the steriod allegations and Benoit tradgedy
I believe it’s very possible for the Rock to come back. Would love to see him in action again. Even perhaps a Rock and Sock connection reunion!
