Notes From The Raw/SNME Taping

I was lucky enough to attend the live Raw and SNME taping last night and though I give a couple of notes from the show. But first I must say that I think it’s imposable not to have fun at a WWE TV taping so even though the WWE writing/booking has been horrible in the past weeks I liked the show because I was there I’m not sure how it came across on TV.

OK, so the show started off with most of the WWE superstars surrounding the ring as they all filed out the crowd(in typical New York City fashion) began to cat call the divas in the most vulgar way witch would have been really funny if I hadn’t been there with my two nephews who are only 5 and 6 years old. Kennedy got the biggest pop he was so over you would have though he was a face if you didn’t know any better. Vince and Stephanie(who is still very hot) also got huge pops the people seem to be very in to this story line and a lot of them kept shouting out Kennedy’s name during the segment I guess they read the spoiler. I don’t know if that could be heard on TV.

Mr. Kennedy vs Sandman
Once again Kennedy was way over there was almost nobody booing him. The crowd loved to see him beat the hell out of Sandman even though Sandman was also over with the crowd.

Cade and Murdoch vs Cryme Tyme
When Cryme Tyme’s music hit and the crowd heard Brooklyn they went nuts. For the people who have never been to the NYC tri state area if anyone shouts out Brooklyn at any event the place goes nuts for some reason this was no different. The home town boys were of course way over and Cade and Murdoch drew nice heel heat.

Snitsky vs Robbie
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crowd more in different toward a match 23,000 in attendance and no one cared enough to even give Snitsky X-Pac heat. I don’t know why this match was on the card.

WWE Idol
The funniest part of this segment wasn’t even on TV during the commercial break Todd Grisham came out onto the stage to get ready for the next segment and part of crowd booed him for absolutely no reason he had this look on his face like WTF. I hated last weeks game show but this one was actually good. Santino Marella was entertaining for the very first time DAMN!

Cody Rhodes vs Charlie Haas
Not much to say about this one. Cody was surprisingly over with the fans I know he’s a face but he got a bigger reaction then I expected.

King Booker Segment
Booker T got the most heel heat of anybody that night even more then Vince, but this segment was the most disappointing. I don’t know what the WWE is thinking Raw is your “A” show your taping in MSG one of the most famous arena’s in the world the entire crowd knew HHH was going to face Booker T at Summer Slam and the entire crowd knew he was in the building and expected him to show so why the fuck didn’t he come out and cut a promo on King Booker. Booker did a good job after the HHH video played of really beating the shit our of Lawler this kind of got the crowd to focus the anger at the HHH no show at King Booker.

Cena and Umaga vs Randy Orton and Carlito
As I expected the crowd loved Orton and not just because he’s up against Cena, Orton always gets big pops from the NYC area the fact that he’s feuding with Cena only intensified the crowds love for the legend killer. I would say the crowd was split about 60/40 in favor of Orton kids and woman routing for Cena and everyone else in routing of Orton. I’m sure the “Let’s Go Cena” and “Let’s Go Orton” could be herd on TV. Umaga also was way over with the fans he got one of the biggest pops of the night.

Only couple of quick things on SNME since

Batista was not as over as I’ve seen in the past he didn’t catch as much heat has Cena but there where scattered boo’s. I think the crowd couldn’t decide on who to hate more Batista or Khali there match was pretty bad.

The MVP/Matt Hardy segment was pretty entertaining even though we all knew how it was gonna end.

Cena getting RKO’d on the chair was one of the biggest pops of the night I didn’t think the place was gonna get any louder until Stone Cold made his surprise appearance and the place went absolute ape shit nuts. This completely made up for HHH absence.

SNME was much better than the last one still not great but at least they didn’t have a match that involved Donk The Clown. Here are the statistics for the entire night

Biggest Pops
Stone Cold
Mr. Kennedy
Randy Orton
HHH video package
Cryme Tyme
Umaga

Most Heat
Santino Marella(believe it or not)
Cena
MVP
King Booker
Cade and Murdoch
Vince

I’m ashamed to say I had to spend some of my hard earned money on Cena merchandise for my nephews but I made up for it by buying Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton, HHH and Edge shirts. I’m not gonna say how much that cost me. All in all very fun time so much fun in fact one of my friends talked me into making the 4 hour trip to Uncasville, CT for tonights Smackdown/ECW taping two shows I haven’t watch in weeks. I’ll post details on that on Saturday so I don’t spoil it for anyone.
