Notes: Bobby Lashley hurt

Put another one on the injury list!! WWE.com reported that Lashley hurt his shoulder in his match against Mr. Kennedy.

It is being rumored that since the shoulder was the area focused on in the match that Lashley truly hurt himself during the weekend and of course it was blamed on Mr. Kennedy for the angle.

Jeff Hardy Finished With The WWE?

– According to PWInsider.com, Jeff Hardy may be done with WWE. Hardy wasn’t at RAW last night and there’s concern within WWE that he won’t be back for SummerSlam and that he might not be back at all. His program with Umaga was scrapped and Umaga was turned babyface on RAW.

If it’s true I’m pretty suprised because he was making moves and got some serious pops lately. Plus I enjoyed the match with Umaga and could see them having another good match at Summerslam but now hmmm.

Notes: Test going to TNA?

PWInsider has reported that TNA has been in negotiations to bring over ex WWE wrestler Test.(Andrew Martin)

Martin was dropped from WWE. It was reported by WWE that he was fired while Martin claimed that he had quit the federation. (Yeah right Test.)

Now my question is; Does Test have anything to offer TNA? I don’t think so. Any Testicles left out there still believe in him?

NFL Player Adam "Pac-Man" Jones to wrestle with TNA

From 411mania.com, via PWInsider.com:

Late last week TNA Wrestling signed suspended Tennessee Titan cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones to a contract that will see the NFL star perform as a wrestler. Jones is currently suspended for the entire 2007 NFL season, without pay, for personal conduct problems off of the field. Under his suspension, Jones is not allowed to attend the Tennessee Titans’ training camp. He is currently trying to get his suspension reduced to 10-games. Reportedly the Titans has no issue with Jones getting involved in professional wrestling.

Another Tennessee Titan, TNA? (Nice alliteration there.)

I’m sure he’ll get… eaten up! Get it! Pac-Man! Eaten up! Ha ha… I kill myself.

Probably shouldn’t say “I kill myself” after the Benoit thingy, Max.

Never mind!

Your Weekly Dose of Indy Wrestling

This week, I bring you two Chikara mainstays. Normally from the tag team Up In Smoke, this time they’re against each other in a CZW ring. I give you: Cheech vs Cloudy.

If you only watch part of this amazing match, watch the last five minutes for some amazing spots.

LAX Unprofessional?

Mike Mooneyham of the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier has an interesting column up this week discussing a recent tag team match between LAX and two indy workers in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Apparently Hernandez gave the Border Toss to Kirby Mack and it resulted in a collapsed lung. Here’s a few quotes:

“They think, because they work for TNA, that they’re wrestling stars,” said Simpson. “They thought just because they had wrestled Kirby and T.J. on television, that they weren’t on their level. They didn’t want to make Kirby and T.J. look good and didn’t want to treat them as equals. But that’s just their mentality. That upset T.J. and Kirby more than any stiff (stuff), because they like to work stiff too. It was the lack of respect. Kirby and T.J. are used to dealing with real superstars who treat them as equals.”

“They were jumping and beating up on Kirby and T.J. and wouldn’t sell for them. Homicide was supposed to take the up-and-over backcracker thing, and he just let Kirby hit the mat. Hernandez used the Border Toss thing on Kirby, and he had hit T.J. so hard it left a purple welp on his back. T.J. said that was the hardest he had ever been hit. He said there was no way he could go over and tag Kirby because he was hurting so bad. It was absolutely, positively insane.”

I suggest reading the entire article to get a full feel for what happened at the match. Unfortunately, it sounds like Hernandez especially is a real jackass, which sucks because he’s got amazing talent.

New Summerslam Poster

Any guesses on what Triple H’s involvement in Summerslam will be?

Here’s my cool Triple H scenario of the day:

Triple H returns to Raw and ends up being booked as the guest referee for the John Cena/Randy Orton title match. Of course, Triple H is playing the babyface/DX crap all the way up to Summerslam. Then, during the match, he turns heel, aiding Randy Orton and getting the victory.

This opens up a lot of possibilities. Triple H v. Cena in a non-title feud. Triple H v. Orton for the title. It’s off the top of my head, but I like it.

TNA: Notes on the company, PPV, Ratings

TNA announced on their cellphone services that an “Ex World Champion” will make his Debut on Impact during the program taping next week. Any guesses guys?

It is also being reported that a “Bar Room Brawl” match between James Storm Vs Rhino has been added to the “Hard Justice” PPV. I know a few of you guys were hoping for this one.

Impact this Thursday received a 1.13 rating which is the equivalent of 1.5 million viewers.

Batista Unleashed Book Preview

To buy or not to buy? If it’s anything like Hogan’s it could be quite amusing. I would love to hear his take on the infamous Summerslam commercial. And isn’t it too soon for him to be writing a book? This would be like The Miz writing a book

People around the world know Dave Batista as World Wrestling Entertainment’s “the Animal,” the rope-shaking, spine-busting World Heavyweight Champion, one of the most popular Superstars in recent years. The crowd turned Batista from heel to babyface after they were electrified by his awesome physique and physical wrestling style.

Few fans, however, know that Batista didn’t join the profession until he was thirty years old — an age at which many wrestlers are thinking about hanging up their boots. Nor do most fans know the tremendous toll the climb to the top has taken on Batista’s personal life. While successfully staying away from hard drugs and — usually — liquor, he found sex too tempting to resist.

“Women were my drug of choice,” the Animal confesses. That addiction cost him his marriage, destroying a relationship that had helped him climb from poverty to the pinnacle of sports entertainment in less than two years.

Now, in Batista Unleashed, the WWE Superstar comes clean about the choices he made and the devastating effects they had on his family. He talks about the injury that stripped him of his title — an injury he blames on Mark Henry’s carelessness. While being sidelined cost Batista untold hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost income, it also set the stage for a tremendous comeback that cemented the Animal’s reputation as a true champion.

Batista talks about growing up in the worst part of Washington, D.C., where three murders occurred in his front yard before he was nine. He speaks lovingly about his mother — a lesbian — and how hard she worked to keep the family not just together but alive. He talks candidly about his own criminal past: a conviction on a drug charge and another, since overturned, on assault. He speaks of his days as a bouncer and a lifeguard, and tells how bodybuilding may have saved his life.

Once he made it to the WWE, Batista realized he wasn’t really ready for the big time. His career seemed headed for a fall until Fit Finlay took him under his wing. But his real education came when he joined Evolution and rode with Triple H and Ric Flair, two of sports entertainment’s all-time greats. Batista talks about what they taught him, and details some of their wild times on the road.

But the champ also reveals a kinder, gentler side. While his soft-spoken manner in the locker room has sometimes been misinterpreted as arrogance, in truth Batista’s always been somewhat shy and quiet. Emotional by nature, he reveals for the first time that the tears fans saw at WrestleMania 21, when he won the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time, were very real. And he speaks movingly about his problems with his ex-wives and teenage daughters, and how it felt to become a grandfather.

While his straight-shooting mouth has occasionally gotten him into trouble — most notably in a backstage confrontation with Undertaker after some remarks about SmackDown! — Batista is his own harshest critic. He explains his early limitations as a wrestler and the work he has done to overcome them. Interspersing his memoir with accounts from life on the road, Batista lightens the narrative with a surprising sense of humor. An Animal in the ring, he reveals himself as an honest and even humble man in everyday life.

Congress Asks WWE To Turn Over Drug Testing Records

ESPN.com is reporting that two congressmen have requested that Vince McMahon turn over records pertaining to WWE’s drug testing policies. According to the web site, in a three-page letter dated today, Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Tom Davis, its ranking minority member, asked Vince to provide a series of documents so congress can look into WWE’s drug-testing policy.

Here are some excerpts from the letter:

“The tragic deaths of World Wrestling Entertainment star Chris Benoit and his family have raised questions about reports of widespread use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs by professional wrestlers.”

“These allegations — which include first-hand reports of steroid use by prominent former wrestlers — have swirled around the WWE for over a decade. Investigations by journalists have described a culture of performance-enhancing drug use in professional wrestling, high fatality rates among young professional wrestlers, and an inability or unwillingness of WWE to address these problems.”

“WWE has a responsibility to do everything possible to eliminate the use of performance-enhancing drugs — or the perception of such use — by its wrestlers.”

The letter describes WWE wrestlers as “multimedia stars that have an influence on the behavior and attitudes of the nation’s youth.”

They state that the committee is seeking “the results of any investigations prepared [by the company] regarding the deaths, injuries, or illnesses of current or former professional wrestlers that may have been related to the use of steroids.”

They also ask Vince to include “all communications between [the company] and outside entities including communications with health care professionals or law enforcement authorities, regarding allegations of drug use by wrestlers.”

Sports Illustrated stole my thunder

Show some love.

While talking to someone on AIM, we came up with wrestlers who had ridiculous gimmicks. Ridiculous as in “Haha, funny” not ridiculous as in “I hate this gimmick”. Well, coming up with a short list last night, I get an AIM message with a to SI’s most ridiculous WWF gimmicks.

My list of ridiculous gimmicks in the WWF would be:

1. Repo Man. – Repo man that took your stuff if you lost to him.

2. The Mountie – Greatest Canadian wrestler ever. Lance Storm, Chris Jericho, Bret Hart and even Edge ain’t got nothing on The Mountie.

3. Koko B. Ware – He came out with his parrot. And tried to wrestle. He really tried.

4. Hillbilly Jim – Watching old WWF tapes, I love it when he comes out.

5. Papa Shango – Anyone who can make the Ultimate Warrior more than a joke than he already is is my new found hero.

SI’s Jimmy Traina used two of my five.

Here be a screenshot of his list.

It is being rumored that some guys from the cast decided not to participate after the Benoit Tragedy. Two of the main guys from Jackass, Bam Margera and Johnny Knoxville said they were not going to take part, Margera due to an injury and Knoxville due to unknown reasons.

RAW’s ratings drop

WWE RAW has seen a drop in the ratings since the Benoit tragedy which has continued until this past edition of RAW.

The recent results have been:

June 18: 4.1
June 25: 3.83 (Benoit tribute show)
July 2: 3.7
July 9: 3.35
July 16: 3.4
July 23: 3.4

Ironically the ECW and Smackdown shows haven’t had a significant change in numbers. In the past 6 weeks ECW has dropped from a 1.6 to a 1.34 while Smackdown has maintained an average of 2.5 and 2.4

Edge out for more time than expected

The Ex World Champion Edge was operated this past weekend and they found that his pectoral muscle was torn completely and not partial as expected.

They are hoping he can return in about 5 months. Originally he was expected to return from 3 to 4 months.

ECW wrestler dropped

WWE let Renee Dupree go from their ECW roster. Until now the reasons are unknown. Renee has not been seen on TV for the last couple of months.

TNA Impact Dicussion

Well TNA has been putting on a very solid show lately and this one is already off to a good start.

  • Solid match from Sting and Robert Roode (I was actually impressed)
  • Dustin Rhodes. One word – Fucking fantastic, yep I lied that’s two words.
  • Kurt Angle..LOSERS(Maybe Eric can finally get on tv without coming from under the ring)

Next Bad Champions

Raw = Snitsky
Smackdown = Mark Henry
ECW = Big Daddy V

Any of them would suck as Champ. God help us all if anyone of them would win.
