WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: No Champ?

Lex is still dead….or on vacation or something so this is your “Official Monday Night Raw Discussion”. So tonight Raw should be interesting to say the least there’s no world champion on the WWE’s flagship show, HHH, Jeff Hardy and Mr. Kennedy are all gone oh and Mr. McMahon is a paraplegic(maybe). The only matches that set for the are Kofi Kingstone(c) vs Chris Jericho for the IC title and Mickie James(c) vs Beth Phoinx for the Woman Championship. And of course there’s gonna be on “Official Announcement” from the McMahon family about Vince’s horrible accident. I have a feeling that the Raw writers are gonna be struggling to make this show interesting without a World Championchip to spark feuds but maybe they can pull something out of there ass.

Cheap Plugs:

  • The PWBite Rant: The podcast where sideshowRaheem and the rest of the PWB crew discuss what’s going on in the wrestling world.
  • Wrestling House Show: A new podcast featuring PWBites Joey and Mike (and their friend Chris). This week, they made their own WWE Draft picks. Check it out, on the real.
  • PWB Podcast Hotline YouTube: That’s right, THE JSN inspired Ian and I. We’re now putting clips of our interviews on YouTube…spread the word!
  • Top10Lists: PWBite THE JSN “insert nickname here” WWF’s YouTube channel. Subscribe. Now.
  • MMA Shoot: The best damn MMA blog on the net. Top post right now gives my thoughts on why Amir Sadollah should have never been the underdog by the end of TUF.

WWE Night Of Champions Discussion: Y2J vs ???

Lex is dead……or on vacation or something so I’ll be taking over the “Official Discussion Posts” for the next two days. Tonight we have probably the most unpredictable PPV of the year WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions, every WWE title is on the line and a new WWE Diva’s Champion will be crowned.

Maybe the most interesting thing about this card is how much we don’t know. We don’t know who Chris Jericho will be wrestling for his Intercontinental Championship, we don’t know who Ted DiBiase Jr.’s tag team partners gonna be for his match against Cody Rhodes & Bob Holly and we don’t know who Natalya Neidhart will be facing for the new Diva’s title. What we do know is the probability of the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands is as close to 100 percent as you can get. Batista and Cena haters beware my only prediction for this PPV is one of those two will be carrying gold by the end of the night. Here’s the complete card for tonight or at least what we know so far:

  • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. John Cena
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Batista
  • ECW Championship: Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry
  • World Tag Team Championship: Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Ted DiBiase and ???
  • WWE Diva’s Championship: Natalya vs. ???
  • WWE Tag Team Championship: John Morrison and The Miz (c) vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle
  • WWE United States Championship: Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Mickie James (c) vs. Katie Lea Burchill
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. ???

Despite my comments on the last podcast I’ve decided to order this PPV. Why? Because when are we gonna have another WWE PPV were anybody could win and I’m a sucker, this is the same guy who’s gonna be in line on July 11th to drop 200 bucks on second iPhone because it has features that really should have included with the first one. What can I say Vince McMahon and Steve Jobs have hold of me there’s just no resisting.

BTW I don’t know why The Undertaker is on the official poster………and remember no posting over this until tomorrow…………

WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: Punk & Jericho v. MVP and Carlito

Ric Flair

Another Monday night, another Raw. CAN YOU TASTE THE EXCITEMENT?

Well, OK, probably not. Regardless, tonight we’ve got CM Punk and Chris Jericho teaming up to face MVP and Carlito in a ladder match preview.

Speaking of Chris Jericho, how great was that MVP/Jericho bit on Smackdown this week? Who do you guys think won the verbal battle: MVP or Jericho? It’s close, but I’d go with MVP, just because he made fun of Jericho “saving us.” That cuts to the quick!

As of now, that’s the only match announced, but they are playing up Ric Flair’s last appearance in South Carolina, where tonight’s Raw is being held. He should get a great ovation in “Flair Country.”

There are only two more Raws before Wrestlemania 24, so the WWE better turn up the heat if they want to increase their buyrate (and Floyd Mayweather’s paycheck).

Here’s to hoping for Ric Flair in a career threatening handicap match against Snitsky and the Great Khali.

When The Rock battled Stone Cold at Wrestlemania XIX, it marked the third time these two greats battled each other at Wrestlemania. It was the first time The Rock came out victorious. This match was a swan song for both Stone Cold and The Rock as it was the final time they would face each other in the ring and was the final Wrestlemania appearance as an active member of the WWE roster for both. Stone Cold has not wrestled since Wrestlemania XIX, The Rock would have his last singles match as a member of the WWE roster month later at Backlash when he was defeated by Goldberg.

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania X8

Wrestlemania X8 a.k.a Wrestlemania XVIII marked only the second time the legendary event was held outside the United States (both held in Toronto’s SkyDome). Wrestlemania X8 was Diamond Dallas Page’s second Wrestlemania in the SkyDome. DDP was also a part of Wrestlemania VI when he drove the car that took The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine to the ring. For the second year in a row, William Regal opened Wrestlemania with a Intercontinental Championship match this time against Rob Van Dam. Both superstars would be defeated in there Wrestlemania return match.

Wrestlemania X8 was the first and only time the “Undisputed Championship” was on the line at a Wrestlemania when Chris Jericho took on Triple H in the main event. Jericho also had to like his chances because Triple H was hobbling into Wrestlemania with a bum quadriceps. After returning from a serious quad injury, Jericho reinjured Triple H’s leg in the weeks heading into their main event match. But The Game was able to prevail, Triple H was able to hit the patented Pedigree for the win and the Undisputed Championship. Triple H’s reign on top only lasted a little over a month before he lost the WWE Championship to Hollywood Hogan at the Backlash.

Jericho good for RAW

Is Chris Jericho good for RAW? For me I would have to say no. Why, well it doesn’t have any thing to do with Jericho who I like but one person cannot change a show. I mean he is feuding with Orton oh yea. Now if it was Cena or maybe Triple H even HBK it would be good but Orton. I just think with Jericho on there it doesn’t make RAW or the WWE worth watching any time soon.

New Podcast: Hitman by Bret Hart, Y2J’s Return Feedback

Podcast Feedback: Y2J’s Return

This got buried yesterday. For the good of the podcast, this gets a bump. Let’s get some more responses here!

I’ve seen lots of divergent opinions on the blog regarding Chris Jericho’s return on Raw this Monday. Some people loved it, some people thought it sucked. Here’s some questions to ponder for the next podcast:

  • What did you think of Jericho’s new look?
  • What did you think of Jericho’s promo?
  • What did you think of the crowd’s response? Hot or so-so?
  • What did you think of Randy Orton’s reaction?
  • What did you think of the segment as a whole?

Those are just off the top of my head, but feel free to answer these questions or pose more on this thread. I’ll use several of your responses on a podcast a few days after the Thanksgiving holiday (most likely Sunday).

Oh, and if you’re living under a rock, I’ll post the video AGAIN:
