Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania 22

2440326.jpg

Tickets sold out in under two minutes for Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago, Illinois. Wrestlemania 22 marked the first Wrestlemania not to feature the winner of the Royal Rumble in the final match of the night since Wrestlemania XV in 1999. CM Punk made his Wrestlemania debut as one of the “gangsters” in John Cena entrance. Bobby Lashley also made his Wrestlemania debut in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

The World Heavyweight Championship match was a triple treat that featured Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and the champion Kurt Angle. This was Randy Orton’s first time competing in the main event at Wrestlemania. The match at just 9 minutes and 18 seconds was the shortest for a world championship in Wrestlemania history. Rey Mysterio pinned Randy Orton for the victory giving him his first World Heavyweight Championship.  Mysterio at only 5’8 and 165lbs would go down in history as the smallest World Heavyweight Champion in history. Because the pin fall was scored on Randy Orton this made the third time Kurt Angle would lose a championship at Wrestlemania without submitting or being pinned.

In the WWE Championship match Triple H faced off against the champion John Cena although Cena was being booked as a babyface the majority of the capacity crowd was against the WWE Champion. After 22 minutes and 2 second Cena forced Triple H to submit with the STFU. This was the second time Triple H would tap out in the main event at a Wrestlemania the previous time being against Chris Benoit at Wrestlemania XX.

Breaking News: Rey Mysterio Needs Surgery Out 4 to 6 Months; Lindsay Lohan Still Hot

It is now a guaranty that Rey Mysterio will not be wrestling in the Floyd Mayweather match at Wrestlemania 24. Mysterio is currently scheduled to undergo surgery with Dr. James Andrews this Friday to repair his torn biceps muscle. If Mysterio goes through with the surgery he will be out 4-6 months and will not be able to compete at Wrestlemania. He could however still be involved in the Mayweather/Big Show feud in some capacity. This will be the second year in a row Rey Mysterio will be unable to compete at Wrestlemania due to injury. But on a lighter note Lindsay Lohan was backstage at Raw last night looking incredibly hot click here to see the more pics, LOL at how she’s taller then Mysterio by at least 2 inches.

Rey Mysterio Injured, NWO Status Questionable

This news is just now breaking, the injury bug reared it’s ugly head again last night in Santiago, Chile Rey Mysterio suffered a biceps injury. He was sent back to the US to meet with the WWE’s designated “oh shit, fix this guy!” doctor James Andrews who has also treated HHH, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Batista, and The Undertaker among others in the past. Rey Mysterio has been deemed questionable for this Sunday’s No Way Out PPV. With all of there other major stars involved in Elimination Camber Matches the WWE would be in a rough spot if Mysterio can’t go.

sideshowRaheem

What do you get when you mix Vickie G with Rey Mysterio?

You get the worst promo in the history of the WWE. Who thought of putting Slimer and Mysterio on the mic for the first 15 minutes of the show?

Anyway, Smackdown’s on if anyone wants to comment on it.

Botchamania 30

Here’s the latest in the Botchamania series. Lots of blown spots, several recent ones. I really can’t get enough of these. I also love seeing that Moscow of Chikara got included in this one.

Cyber Sunday Main Events Already Anounced, And More Save_Us.222 Crazyness

The WWE has already released info on Cyber Sunday’s main events and stipulations. The RAW main event will be Randy Orton(c) vs. Triple H no surprise here. We will be able to vote whether the match will be Hell in the Cell, a No DQ match, or a Falls Count Anywhere, I think we all know what’s gonna win out in this one. The SmackDown main event will be a Four Way match featuring Batista(c) vs. Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio vs. The Great Khali we will be able to vote on WWE.com on who will be the guest referee. The choices are JBL, Mick Foley, or Steve Austin once again we all know Austin gonna win but personally I wanna see JBL.

Also as Colin Classic pointed out in the “No Mercy” discussion if you go to WWE.com all the way at the bottom of the page underneath the corporate info link the is a link named “Save_us.222 | Savior_self” witch links to a Y2J video. I was unable to confirm this for sure because the browser I’m currently using doesn’t support embedded Windows Media but I’ll take his word for it.

Random Non-Benoit News

Here are some interesting WWE stories not related to Chris Benoit.

  • The industry trade publication Cable 360 is reporting that the USA Network is in talks with the WWE to permanently expand Monday Night Raw to three hours.(take that TNA) (Source)

  • The rumored main events for The Great American Bash are John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley(God No!) and Edge vs Rey Mysterio(God Yes!) (Source)

  • Triple H is no longer pushing for his return match to be against Randy Orton. He now wants the WWE title to be put on Orton and he wants his return match to be against Mr. Kennedy……Kennedy.

  • Tonights Raw will feature Umaga vs. Santino Marella for the IC Title.(My guess is Santino will drop the IC Title because of the huge reaction Umaga got at the last PPV) (Source)

The Storyline to finally turn ____ heel?

Could it be Bobby Lashley for Mcmahon Putting him through hell for the past 3-4 months? Nah.

Could it be Rey Mysterio, who was attacked by Vince and Umaga a while back? Rey, turning heel? Nah.

Could it be Ashley, who was embarrassed to the point where she would go killing? Hell Naw?

Could it be Bret Hart, who for obvious reason had a motive? Hmmmmmmmm…maybe, but since he wont wrestle, Nah.

Or could it be the one guy who had his last confrontation with Vinny-Mac himself? Thats right, good ole’, clean spirited John Cena. Cena has been a face for some time now and I am pretty sure with faces coming back soon (HHH, HBK, Lashley to raw, Kennedy…..Kennedy) someone will have to turn heel. Cena? Yes! Just remember that I said it first.
