Mayweather Retires!

It was released that at the age of 31, Floyd Mayweather retired from the world of Professional Boxing and it does not appear that he has any intentions of joinning with the WWE any more.

In other news, Nick Hogan was moved to a cell with a T.V. along with 3 other J.D.’s.

VOTD:50 Cent wasn’t at WM24 because…?

50 Cent was to come out with Floyd Mayweather, until they fought over it……..

P.S. I am not able to be on the blog much because I need a new charger for my laptop.

WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: Cena & Orton v. The Raw Roster

I will hand it to the WWE: they avoided making their main event for this evening predictable. I’m sure everyone assumed (I certainly did) that it would be John Cena v. Randy Orton, but they’ve played it differently–Triple H has “booked” John Cena and Randy Orton to team up and take on the entire Raw roster.

Here’s what I see happening: Cena goes Superman, takes out Orton and the Raw roster, only to be put down by a Pedigree to the cheers of the crowd. Book it.

Tonight we’ve also got new IC champ Chris Jericho kicking off Raw with the Highlight Reel. His guest will be the Big Show…who I’m sure will be touting his butt-kicking of Money Mayweather last week on Raw.

That’s all the WWE has planned for now. Discuss Raw here.

Mayweather/Big Show Work Turns Shoot

According to reports from backstage at last nights Raw the scuffle between Floyd Mayweather’s posse and WWE talent was legit reports Mike Johnson of the Professional Wrestling Insider. Apparently there were some members of Mayweather’s posse that wanted to prove how tough they were and began to stiff some wrestlers. Some wrestlers went right back at them for a minute before order was finally restored. Shane McMahon was legitimately knocked down on the ramp. After the segment ended there was said to be a lot of tension between Mayweather’s posse and WWE superstars backstage. There is the possibility that this is false info being leaked by the WWE to draw smark fans in on the Mayweather gimmick. Regardless it may have been worth it Big Show tossing Floyd Mayweather out of the ring over the top rope on Raw was the #9 top play on ESPN’s SportsCenter, exactly what WWE wanted to happen.

Here’s the scuffle from last night again incase you missed it:

WWE Monday Night Raw Discusison: Big Show v. Generic Boxer

The trend of not announcing matches for Raw continues this week. Well, techincally, at least. We do know Big Show will be facing off in an exhibition with a professional boxer, but we don’t know who that boxer will be. Here’s to hoping for some surprise Mike Tyson-ear biting action. How great would that be?

Also, as noted in the first comment by the man himself, sideshowRaheem, Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel will return to Raw tonight.

Discuss Raw here.

Why Mayweather Isn’t Really Getting $20 Million

I like many of you was perplexed by the supposed 20 million dollars that the WWE is paying Floyd “Money” Mayweather for his participation at Wrestlmania 24. I couldn’t figure out whether the WWE was doing this as an investment that would help stur up publicity for their brand and capture new fans from the boxing world or if the Wrestlemania event itself is allot more profitable then we smarks think it is. So I decided to do a little digging into this and look at the numbers.

First off in order for this to even remotely financially successful it would have to be the most watched Wrestlemania ever which means it would have to top last year’s WM PPV buys witch set the record when it came in at 1.2 million, so we’ll use Wrestlemania 23 as a base for all the numbers we examine for this. Now lets try to figure out how much money Wrestlemania 23 made. According to Wikipedia as I just stated WM23 PPV buys came in at 1.2 million multiply that buy $49.95(the cost per buy) we’ll round that up to $50 make it easier for all the college dropouts like me, so 1,200,000 x 50 = 60 million. Take that 60 million and cut it in half because the cable and satellite companies get at least that much(if not more) now we have 30 million now we add the 5.38 million that the WWE made at the gate I’m not sure if that number includes merchandise sold at the show but I assume it does, now we have 35.38 million dollars before we factor in the cost of production. This is where it gets dicey because I could not find any public info on how much WM23 cost to produce and promote but even a conservative guess would put it at least 10 to 15 million. For the sake of round numbers lets say the cost of the set, piro, promotions, and wrestler pay outs set the WWE back 15.38 million this leaves them with an even 20 million dollars of profit not including WM23 DVD sales. By this estimate, which I admit is done by a layman, even if WM24 equals the success as the most successful WM ever it leaves the WWE with a profit of $0.00 if they pay Floyd Mayweather Jr. what is being reported by the AP. More numbers after the break………. Continue reading

Floyd “Money” Mayweather Makes It Rain On Dem Hoes

Well, I vowed not to post anymore of clips involving the Floyd Mayweather/Big Show match but this is just too good. For those of you who were smart enough not to waste their time watching the Wrestlemania 24 press conference this by far was the most entertaining part. Floyd Mayweather(who now wants to be known as “Money” Mayweather) pulled a “Pacman” Jones and made it rain on them hoes, here’s the clip unedited:

*Note to the WWE stop giving Mayweather a script he obviously works much better without one.

Wrestlemania 24 Press Conference Live Updates

I’m lucky enough to be watching the live WM24 press conference(lucky me) here are some live updates.

3:00pm EST: Vince comes out and talks about how big WM is to the WWE and how they can do more at an out door arena then they can inside. Is it just me or is it weird to see Vince out of out side of his gimmick.

3:10 EST: Jonathan Coachman intros John Cena he gets his usual mixed reaction. Cena thanks Vince for putting WM together, Cena says he’s lucky because he was supposed to miss this years WM. He then says he respects the wrestling business no matter whether he gets booed or cheered. He also says he will deliver.

3:16 EST: Coach intros Randy Orton he also gets a mixed reaction. Orton says he younger, faster, stronger then Cena and HHH, the marks then start the Cena chant. Orton says after WM he will no longer be known as the “legend killer” he will be known as a legend. ORTON IS LEGEND coming to a theater near you.

3:22 EST: Coach intros HHH he is the only person so far to get 100% positive reaction. HHH says WM is bigger then the Superbowl(a bit much). He says like the Superbowl they all come to see “The Game”…….get it. Blah, Blah, Blah at WM the king will be back on his thrown HHH is done.

3:28 EST: Coach intros Candis Michelle and Maria and announces they will be in the first ever “Playboy Bunny Mania Match” whatever the fuck that is. Apparently its Maria’s birthday the crowd starts singing happy birthday to her. I refuse to waste my time transcribing this shit. The smart move would have been putting Santino out there with them.

3:31 EST: Coach intros Edge he also gets a mixed reaction. Edge talks about how The Undertaker is undefeated but so is he. Edge says quote “The streak comes to an end at the hands of the Rated R Superstar” then he walks off to mostly boo’s. Edge got less time then the divas.

3:34 EST Coach intros Rey Mysterio even though he wont be wrestling Coach says Rey will be coaching Floyd Mayweather. Rey gets the biggest pop so far, he starts speaking Spanish and the crowd gives him an even bigger pop. The crowd starts chanting something in Spanish(I don’t know what). Rey says he’s gonna come back stronger and faster(apparently Rey and Orton are big Kanye West fans).

3:40 EST Coach intros new Raw announcer Mike Adamle I don’t know why this guy gets the mic. Mike talks about the size difference between The Big Show and Mayweather. Mike now intros Shane McMahon says he’s responsible for getting the Mayweather/Big Show match together.

3:43 EST Shane says HBO, Direct TV and everybody in the boxing PPV business are worried. Cena chant starts for no good reason. Now a HHH chant starts for no good reason then Orton holds up the title and everybody boo’s him.

3:45 EST Shane intros Mayweather he comes out accompanied by his entourage as usual he also gets a mixed reaction. Some people start chanting De La Hoya. Mayweather thanks Vince, Shane and the WWE the De La Hoya chant contiues followed by a Big Show chant. Mayweather asked the crowd to refer to him as “Money Mayweather”. Mayweather then pulls out a stack of cash and offers to make it rain but he doesn’t. Mayweather seems to be enjoying the heel heat, he says it was the WWE but now it’s the MME(Money Mayweather Entertainment) clever. He continues to taunt the crowd so far Mayweather by far the most entertaining part of this press conference.

3:55 EST Mike Adamle comes back out and intros Big Show and the stream cuts off(not on my end the WWE screwed up somehow). The stream comes back Big Show is at the podium. He says he’s gonna slap around Mayweather at Mania. Mayweather then stands on a chair so that he’s eye to eye with Big Show. Mayweather then sits back down and thats it. What are they crazy? They didn’t stage any kind of fake scuffle that was the whole reason I sat through this shit. You think the WWE would have given the press some time to ask questions, just a thought.

So what is it that we’ve learned here, there’s gonna be some kind of “Playboy Bunny Mania Match” at WM, Edge held the entire SD! brand on his back for the better part of a year and yet he cant get more then 3mins at the WM24 press conference, LA loves Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker doesn’t get invited to press conferences and Floyd Mayweather works much better as a heel with no script.

Here is some post press conference material from the WWE, lets see how long it takes them to yank it from YouTube:

It might be December, but tonite it’s Mayweather

Even though Ricky Hatton put on a great effort, Floyd”Money”Mayweather truly show the boxing world why he’s considered the best in the business with his 10 round tko of the hitman. I Felt it was great fight, much better than Mayweather/De La Hoya, and very happy that Floyd won. What does everyone think of the fight?
