WWE Survivor Series Discussion: Hell in a Cell

Tonight is one of WWE’s biggest PPVs of the year, Survivor Series. Unfortunately, I’m a little bit down on the card this year as I stated on today’s podcast, so I won’t be ordering the show. If you are watching it and happen to be online, feel free to keep the rest of us freeloaders up to date.

Here’s tonight’s card:

  • WWE Championship Match (Sweet Chin Music banned for HBK, Orton loses title if he gets DQed): HBK v. Randy Orton(c)
  • Hell in a Cell for the World Heavyweight Championship: Undertaker v. Batista(c)
  • Survivor Series Elimination: Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy(???), Rey Mysterio & Kane v. Umaga, Kennedy, MVP, Finlay & Big Daddy V
  • ECW Championship: The Miz v. John Morrison v. CM Punk(c)
  • World Tag Team Titles: Cody Rhodes & Bob Holly v. Cade & Murdoch(c)
  • Hornswoggle v. Great Khali
  • 10 Divas Tag Team Match

Oh yeah…and one has to assume Edge will return. Feel free to discuss and post your predictions here.

"The" Jsnwwf’s Survivor Series Predictions

Kennedy will end up being the sole survivor, then gloat on RAW being interrupted by Y2J.

Either that of WWE will swerve us and have Y2J return tomorrow interrupting santino.

What do you think?

The WWE Kills The Brand Split?

I guess you could call it ironic that the same week the Smackdown vs Raw 2008 video game is released the WWE seems to be in the process of getting rid of the brand split all together. Last week the WWE tested the waters by having The Great Khali, Rey Mysterio, and Finlay show up on Raw. This week they seem to be going all out with MVP, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Kane set to be part of the Kennedy/HHH Lumber Jack Match on Raw, Kane and Rey Mysterio will team up on ECW to face the tag team of Big Daddy V and Finlay, and The Hardy Boys will reunite on this weeks Smackdown to face off against MVP and Mr. Kennedy. I have to say as a person who was very pro brand split from day one all this sound pretty cool, it’s the first time in a long time I’ve been interested in all 3 shows in the same week. But the question has to be asked what will be the fate of guys like Carlito, Elijah Burke, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Dykstra, Jamie Noble, Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Cody Rhodes, and Santino Marella if the WWE decides to continue with this, is there room for up and coming talent if there is no more brand split? Think about it if the original brand split never happened would Edge or Randy Orton find themselves at main event status today? Of course thier is the possibility that the WWE is only doing this because it’s sweeps week or because they need to pump up this Sunday’s Survivor Series or because they’re looking to promote the release of Smackdown vs Raw 2008 or maybe all of the above I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

10 years on

Today (9th nov) is the 10 year anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob. It was the last time anyone saw Bret Hart in a wwe ring before he went on to WCW and became world champ twice.Since this incident everyone involved has moved on in some way.

HBK is no longer the spunky, cocky, arrogant guy he once was.A born again Christian now and someone who’s trying to give back to the business. He will however never be a wrestler as good as Bret Hart and neither will HHH.

Vince Mcmahon has since become the owner of the world’s largest and most prosperous wrestling company.

Earl Hebner is now a TNA referee.

Bret hart has retired and will probably never wrestle again.(DAMN * 100…..)

A Bunch Of Random New Stories

Here are a couple of news stories that didn’t really warrant there own individual post:

Nick Hogan Arrested For August Crash:
Police have arrested Nick Hogan on charges of felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. He turned himself in to Clearwater Police this morning and is currently being booked in to the Pinellas County Jail. The son of the legendary wrestler will face criminal charges for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, a breath-alcohol level of higher than .02 and having an illegal window tint. Also police have ticketed but not charged the driver of the silver Viper Nick was racing turns out the driver of that second car was not Hulk Hogan as some of us suspected.

Hollywood Writers Strike Could Be Good For The WWE:
In case you’ve been under a rock or don’t live in the states the WGA (Writers Guild of American) went on strike this past Monday witch means that every American TV show that isn’t news or reality has gone dark. NBC executives have said that if the strike is prolonged to the point where they run out of there original non reality programing they would turn to the WWE to fill some of there empty prime time slots. They would be able to do this because the WWE writers are not apart of the WGA. The last writers strike in 1988 lasted 5 1/2 months so this is defiantly a possibility in the near future.

More Clues to Y2J’s Return Date:
WWE is plaining on releasing a Save_Us t-shirt according to WWEShop.com it will go on sale November 19 the same day as the rumored Y2J return.

Survivor Series Card Update:
There have been two updates to the Survivor Series card first an ECW title match has been added it will be CM Punk(c) vs John Morrison vs The Miz………um ok. The second is that a bit of a spoiler so if you don’t wanna know stop reading this right now. A stipulation has been added to the HBK/Orton WWE Title match HBK will not be allowed to use the super kick, for once some decent booking out of Raw.

El Nagual’s Youtube video of the day

Well as we all know Survivor Series is around the corner, so here is a classic team match featuring the WWE Legend who passed away the Fabulous Moolah (RIP). And her tag partners, Tori, Debra and of course Mae Young Vs Luna Vachon, Terri, Jacqueline and the Women’s Champion at the time Ivory. This was in SS 1999. Enjoy!

Latest Jericho Prediction

This last video has 19_Launch in it, which leads us to believe it will be November 19th. That will be the Monday after Survivor Series, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Can we set it up any better? Randy Orton finally vanquishes the threat of HBK at Survivor Series, he’s out to start Raw and we…break the walls down…

I don’t know if there isn’t a better time. Survivor Series is one of the “big four” ppvs for the WWE. Folks will be tuning in to see what happened, especially after one of the bigger pay per views. To me, it merely makes too much sense. Plus that gives the E plenty of time to wind down the Orton/HBK angle.

Thoughts?
Shane Rollins
like seriously wtf?!

Booker T Was In The Impact Zone Last Night, news

Booker T was in the impact zone last night during the impact tapings. This has been confirmed.A lot of people saw him last night talking and hanging out with many other wrestlers.Scott hall also made an appearance and he came out on the show to tell everyone that he was not Sting’s partner at Genesis. It has however been more or less confirmed that Booker T will be partnering Sting in the world title match at Genesis against Nash and Angle.

Junior Fatu/Rikishi has left TNA.Officials were pissed at him because he was asking for more money and so they let him go.

Undertaker challenged Batista to a hell in a cell match at the Smackdown taping last night.I don’t think it will happen at survivor series because the Armageddon poster clearly shows Batista as the champ. If it does then I guess it makes sense that Edge shows up and cuts the cell with a chainsaw.

Chris Jericho did not show up like the newspaper article said.He may come back only at Armageddon.

Armageddon 2007

This is the poster,if Batista remains the champ (it clearly looks like that)then I guess survivor series will be a 10 man match.

Gone Til’ November

*UPDATE* This poster maybe a fake. *UPDATE*

November is shaping up to be a good month for wrestling fan. First off the newly released Survivor Series poster teases the return of the Rated “R” Superstar. I wonder if Edge got to serve his suspension during his recovery time, or if he even had to serve a suspension at all.

Second it starting to look pretty surton that Y2J has signed a deal to return to the WWE. Take a close look at his book signing schedule.

Notice Jericho has signings scheduled every day of the week except Monday and from what I hear the WWE tapes some kind of live show on Monday nights but I can’t really recall the name of it right now.

And last but not least remember this guy……………….

Bobby Lashley went down on July 30 with a shoulder injury he was expected to be out for 4 months witch would most likely put his return sometime in the late November to early December time frame. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lashley put back onto the Smackdown roster because with his lack of mic skills he’s in danger of be overshadowed by HHH, Mr. Kennedy, Y2J, and John Cena four guys who have larger than life personalities.
