Smackdown! Discussion: Jeff Hardy vs John Morrison

First off pardon me if this post seems a little off I was at a BBQ and I had a few drinks(which I rarely do) and I’m a little buzzed. Anyway it may be the alcohol in my system but tonight’s Smackdown looks excellent on paper it features PWB’s favorite type of match A POLE MATCH!!! Victoria vs. Michelle McCool vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Cherry vs. Maryse the winner will face Natalya Neidhart for the WWE Smackdown Diva’s Championship. And we get a great swash match no not Vladimir Kozlov vs A Random No Name, its Umaga vs. Funaki excited yet?

Seriously, there’s defiantly some things worth watching on tonights show Matt Hardy will defend his US Title in a Fatal-4-Way match with Ken Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero. Also Jeff Hardy and John Morrison will try to bring all that in ring chemistry they showed on Monday night’s a year ago to Friday when they face off. And in a segment which is sure to be great Triple H will be the guest on MVP’s “VIP Lounge”. Here’s the entire card for tonights show.

  • Fatal-4-Way for the US Title: Matt Hardy(c) vs. Ken Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Chavo Guerrero
  • Star On A Pole Match: Victoria vs. Michelle McCool vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Cherry vs. Maryse
  • Hawkins & Ryder vs. Jesse & Festus
  • Funaki vs. Umaga
  • Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison
  • MVP’s “VIP Lounge” with Triple H as his guest.

Edge and Vickie Guerrero will also be appearing on the show of course.

MY WWE DRAFT Prediction

gets:
Cena. Smackdown needs faces. Its been Batista, Edge, Taker since King Booker lost it, except for Kahli’s short reign.
Beth. Moving to Smackdown would make sense. How many DIVAS are left on RAW for Beth to run over?
Kennedy. To feud with Edge possibly. Kennedy may also go to ECW and become champion there.
London and Kendrick
UUUUMAGA
Snitsky
CM Punk

outside chance of cole to raw and JR to smackdown WONT HAPPEN THOUGH!

gets: take note that ECW will be on the road with RAW
JBL
Jeff Hardy. Lets face it, Hardy will never become a RAW champion. If he moves to SD or ECW, then it is believable that he can become heavyweight champion. If he went against edge, then maybe Lita could return for one night and Matt would help Jeff become champ. Team extreme would return for one night.
Big Show.
Carlito. His push begins here.
Noble
Finlay
gets:
Kelly Kelly
Natalia
Batista. Fresh feud. He will become part of the new evolution, along with Orton. Remember, Orton asked Batista is he would like to team up. Batista didnt say yes, but he didnt say no
MVP. WWE will build him back up. SD writers dont know what to do with him.

WHAT announcers will be drafted? Lillian? King?

Smackdown Discussion: Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk

Tonights Smackdown looks pretty desent on paper here are the confirmed matches:

  • U.S. Champion Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk
  • ECW Champion Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero
  • Fit Finlay vs. MVP
  • Batista vs. John Morrison
  • Big Show vs. Tommy Dreamer
  • Natalya Neidhart vs. Kelly Kelly
  • Vladimir Kozlov vs. Mike Atlas
  • Battle Royal to see who will face The Undertaker at Judgementday

Also in none Smackdown related news justice is served Judge Philip Federico ruled that Nick Hogan will serve 8 months in Pinellas County Jail. He’ll also have 5 years of probation, 500 hours of community service and his license is suspended for 3 years. And Jeff Hardy’s 60 Day suspension is over as of tonight he is eligible to be on Monday nights edition Raw.

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania 23

WE MADE IT PEOPLE!!! For 22 straight days I’ve counted down every single Wrestlemania and now we’ve finally reached the end. Before I go ahead with the recap of Wrestlemania 23 lets just go over the main thing you should have learned about Wrestlemania in the past 22 days. Wrestlemania is never ever good from top to bottom for every match as good as Stone Cold vs Brett Hart there are at least 3 matches as bad as Kane vs Khali in fact any Wrestlemania with more then 3 great matches on the card should be considered a classic. With that said lets get to Wrestlemania 23.

Wrestlemania 23 set an all-time attendance record of 80,103 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The show also had one of the highest Wrestlemania buyrates ever with 1.2 million buys. The event was also the largest audience to assemble for a WWE event since SummerSlam 1992, which attracted 80,355 to Wembley Stadium in London, England. Aretha Franklin performed “America the Beautiful” at the start of the event, reprising her role from twenty years earlier at Wrestlemania III. Believe it or not this is the 5th consecutive Wrestlemania without an Intercontinental Championship match on the card and the 4th with the IC Champion being active on the card. Chris Benoit made his final Wrestlemania appearance when he defeated MVP to retain the United States Championship. Donald Trump made his third Wrestlemania appearance this time as apart of the show in the infamous Hair vs Hair match with Vince McMahon.

The Wold Heavyweight Championship match put The Undertaker’s 14 and 0 Wrestlemania streak against the champion Batista. After an exchange of several devastating attacks, including a Batista Bomb, Undertaker sealed his victory with a Tombstone Piledriver to keep his Wrestlemania streak alive. This was the fourth year in a row that the World Heavyweight Championship has changed hands at Wrestlemania. In the evenings final match Shawn Michaels took on John Cena for the WWE Championship this was Cena’s third year in a row competing for the WWE Championship in the main event. Like the previous two years John Cena would come out victorious bring his Wrestlemania record to 4 and 0.

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania X-Seven

Wrestlemania X-Seven a.k.a. Wrestlemania XVII was the first Wrestlemania held in the state of Texas at the Astrodome on April 1, 2001. That night the WWE established a new all-time record for the facility at 67,925 fans. or the second Wrestlemania in a row, Edge & Christian captured the World Tag Team Championship in a match that also included the Dudleys and the Hardy Boyz. Like Wrestlemania 2000’s version, it was a Ladder Match, but this time it also included tables and chairs, officially making it the first TLC Match in Wrestlemania history. Wrestlemania X-Seven marked the Wrestlemania in-ring debut of the man who conceptualized the event, Vince McMahon, when he took on his son Shane. Also that night Chyna made her Wrestlemania in ring debut and defeated Ivory to win the WWF Womans Championship.

At Wrestlemania X-Seven for the second time “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would square off against The Rock in a Wrestlemania main event. Stone Cold won their previous main event at Wrestlemania XV, and the partisan Texas crowd was clearly on the Rattlesnake’s side for this rematch. The intrigue in the classic bout grew as Vince McMahon made his way to ringside. Vince soon revealed his reason for being there siding with the Texas Rattlesnake and helping his once bitter rival Stone Cold regain the WWF Championship. With this victory over The Rock Stone Cold’s Wrestlemania record moved to 3-0 while The Rock’s dropped to 0-3.

Video of the Day: JR on Hardy’s 1st suspension

Jeff Hardy Is Having The Worst Week Ever

So your Jeff Hardy and you’ve just lost your Intercontinental Championship and completely fucked your chances at ever winning a world title in the WWE by violating the Wellness Policy for a second time and getting suspended for 60 days. The entire wrestling community is thinking your a complete idiot. The good news is nothing else could possibly go wrong……right? Not so much, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Jeff Hardy’s Cameron, NC house burnt down last night, destroying everything he owns. Fortunate Hardy and his family were not home at the time.

Jeff Hardy Suspended For 60 Days

Jeff Hardy has just blown his shot at a full time main event slot by violating the WWE Wellness Policy again. WWE.com is reporting that in accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE has suspended Jeff Hardy for 60 days, for his second violation of the company’s policy. The suspension is most likely the reason Jeff drop the title to Chris Jericho last night on Raw. Jeff Hardy has got to be dumbest man in wrestling he was the hottest face on the Raw roster and it was pretty much a lock he was going to win the Money In The Bank Match at WM24 and he goes and fucks it up. It is very unlikely that the WWE would push Hardy again after his return so I hope you like curtain jerking Jeff because you’ll be doing allot of it in 2008. It is unclear at this time who will be taking Jeff’s spot in the Money In The Bank match but this seems like the perfect opportunity to get Jeff’s brother Matt on to the Wrestlemania card. The good news that comes from this is by suspending arguably the most over face on there roster it is now clear that the WWE is finally taking there Wellness Policy seriously. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU JEFF WTF!!!

Interesting Headlines

Here are a few interesting wrestling headlines for today.

MVP Qualifies for the Money In The Bank Match

Looks like there will be no Matt Hardy/MVP singles match for the US Title at Wrestlemania as MVP qualified for the Money In The Bank match at a Smackdown/ECW house show this weekend. It was reported last week that Matt Hardy is at 100% and ready to return to the ring and since the number of MITB participants is now at 6 if the WWE decides to go with just a 6 man MITB instead of 8 like last year Matt could be left out in the cold. Also assuming that both Jeff Hardy and MVP retain the championships this would be the first Wrestlemania ever that doesn’t have a US or IC title match on the card. WTF Vince!!!

Wrestlemania 25 Location Revealed

Look like Lex has lucked out it has been confirmed that Wrestlemania 25 will be held on April 5, 2009 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The venue is similar in size to Ford Field which means they will probably get around 75,000 tickets for the event.

Umaga Brand Change and Push

It is being rumored that Umaga will be moved to the Smackdown brand after Wrestlemania as the WWE is looking to put him in a long program with the Undertaker which will conclude with at World Title Match at Summer Slam.

Casket Match on Raw

At this time the only confirmed match for tonights 3 hour Raw special is Untertaker vs Mark Henry in a “Casket Match” which is a return match from Wrestlemania 22.

WWE No Way Out 2007 Poster. What does this mean?

I dont know what to think of this. Will Hardy be a transitional champion from the Rumble to No Way Out? Will Hardy get his second shot in the Elimination chamber match?

What do you guys think now? You know WWE thinks highly of you if you are on a poster.

I dont know, maybe Hardy will interfere and screw him over, over jealousy. I know this wont happen, but it would make for a GREAT WRESTLEMANIA storyling.

Hardy’s Suspension

Source: PWInsiderElite.com

– According to Dave Scherer, the statement Jeff Hardy made on his website is not true. Jeff stated that he was given time off to heal from neck and back injuries after a fall last week on RAW. Several sources within the WWE say Jeff has been suspended for his lack of maturity.

When the story originally broke out, there were several conflicting reports of him either no showing or being sent home from TV. All of those reports appear to be false.

Jeff has not been released from the company but isn’t expected to be back for at least 30 days. He will obviously miss this year’s Summerslam PPV.

Notes: Jeff Hardy, Monty Brown

The Wrestling Observer reported that Jeff Hardy was sent to his home by the WWE after RAW. There are no details but it seems the Hardy, Umaga feud has been scrapped.

Monty Brown again was not part of the ECW show. It is being rumored that there has been a problem between Brown and the federation but no details have been released yet.

Jeff or Matt Hardy?

With Jeff getting a push on RAW and Matt getting the same on Smackdown who do you think should get it a bigger push? For me it is hard to say cause the fact I like them both, but when it comes down to the individual wrestler I would have to go with Jeff. I think he has more charisma and is a blast to watch in the ring and not to say that Matt does have that it either but I like Jeff a little bit more.
