Interesting Notes about ECW Last Night

AM I the only one who saw so many botches last night on ECW.

First off, I don’t know if anyone else caught it, but they had to stretch the match between the Miz and Finlay.

I could tell because When both are on the outside I see John Morrison sneak around and whisper something to Horneswoggle.

I will admit though The Miz did a good job for kind of on the spot stuff.

The next match with Chris Harris vs Armando Estrada

Botch fest.

Everything Chris Harris did except for the opening sequence looked bad.

Especially the finish on the crossbody, where he almost decapitated Estrada, but I don’t know if that was his fault or Estrada’s.

I was thoroughly disappointed in his debut, b/c I had a lot of high hopes on him when he left TNA for WWE.

WWE Night Of Champions Discussion: Y2J vs ???

Lex is dead……or on vacation or something so I’ll be taking over the “Official Discussion Posts” for the next two days. Tonight we have probably the most unpredictable PPV of the year WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions, every WWE title is on the line and a new WWE Diva’s Champion will be crowned.

Maybe the most interesting thing about this card is how much we don’t know. We don’t know who Chris Jericho will be wrestling for his Intercontinental Championship, we don’t know who Ted DiBiase Jr.’s tag team partners gonna be for his match against Cody Rhodes & Bob Holly and we don’t know who Natalya Neidhart will be facing for the new Diva’s title. What we do know is the probability of the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands is as close to 100 percent as you can get. Batista and Cena haters beware my only prediction for this PPV is one of those two will be carrying gold by the end of the night. Here’s the complete card for tonight or at least what we know so far:

  • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. John Cena
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Batista
  • ECW Championship: Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry
  • World Tag Team Championship: Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Ted DiBiase and ???
  • WWE Diva’s Championship: Natalya vs. ???
  • WWE Tag Team Championship: John Morrison and The Miz (c) vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle
  • WWE United States Championship: Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Mickie James (c) vs. Katie Lea Burchill
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. ???

Despite my comments on the last podcast I’ve decided to order this PPV. Why? Because when are we gonna have another WWE PPV were anybody could win and I’m a sucker, this is the same guy who’s gonna be in line on July 11th to drop 200 bucks on second iPhone because it has features that really should have included with the first one. What can I say Vince McMahon and Steve Jobs have hold of me there’s just no resisting.

BTW I don’t know why The Undertaker is on the official poster………and remember no posting over this until tomorrow…………

Smackdown! Discussion: Edge vs Matt Hardy

Tonights Smackdown! will see the debut of the announcing team of Mick Foley and Jim Ross that alone is worth tuning in to see. But not only do we get that we also have Edge vs Matt Hardy which because of Hardy’s move to ECW could be the last time we see this in a while. Here’s the full card for tonights Smackdown!:

  • Edge vs. Matt Hardy
  • Batista vs. Umaga
  • Kane & Big Show vs. Mark Henry & MVP
  • Fit Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
  • Maryse, Victoria & Natalya vs. Cherry, Michelle McCool & Kelly Kelly
  • Vladimir Kozlov vs. Domino

Vickie Guerrero, Triple H, Miz, John Morrison, and Rey Mysterio will also be appearing on the show.

MY WWE DRAFT Prediction

gets:
Cena. Smackdown needs faces. Its been Batista, Edge, Taker since King Booker lost it, except for Kahli’s short reign.
Beth. Moving to Smackdown would make sense. How many DIVAS are left on RAW for Beth to run over?
Kennedy. To feud with Edge possibly. Kennedy may also go to ECW and become champion there.
London and Kendrick
UUUUMAGA
Snitsky
CM Punk

outside chance of cole to raw and JR to smackdown WONT HAPPEN THOUGH!

gets: take note that ECW will be on the road with RAW
JBL
Jeff Hardy. Lets face it, Hardy will never become a RAW champion. If he moves to SD or ECW, then it is believable that he can become heavyweight champion. If he went against edge, then maybe Lita could return for one night and Matt would help Jeff become champ. Team extreme would return for one night.
Big Show.
Carlito. His push begins here.
Noble
Finlay
gets:
Kelly Kelly
Natalia
Batista. Fresh feud. He will become part of the new evolution, along with Orton. Remember, Orton asked Batista is he would like to team up. Batista didnt say yes, but he didnt say no
MVP. WWE will build him back up. SD writers dont know what to do with him.

WHAT announcers will be drafted? Lillian? King?

Thank You, WWE

WWE Night of Champions will feature John Morrison and The Miz defending their WWE Tag Team Championships against Finlay and Hornswoggle. For me, that is reason enough why not to purchase Night of Champions. But since, if I’m not mistaken, ECW is moving to tapings before RAW, more than likely we will see new Tag Team Champions in Hornswoggle and Finlay. I haven’t paid for a wrestling PPV since Wrestlemania, but assuming Y2J vs Shawn Michaels for the IC title was going to be added to the card, I was close for this one. Thank you for setting me straight, WWE. You saved me from making a $40 mistake.

Spoiler Alert

This is from a friend of mine, back in Florida. Here’s the announced main event for Raw, the night after Mania, in Miami:

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania 23

WE MADE IT PEOPLE!!! For 22 straight days I’ve counted down every single Wrestlemania and now we’ve finally reached the end. Before I go ahead with the recap of Wrestlemania 23 lets just go over the main thing you should have learned about Wrestlemania in the past 22 days. Wrestlemania is never ever good from top to bottom for every match as good as Stone Cold vs Brett Hart there are at least 3 matches as bad as Kane vs Khali in fact any Wrestlemania with more then 3 great matches on the card should be considered a classic. With that said lets get to Wrestlemania 23.

Wrestlemania 23 set an all-time attendance record of 80,103 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The show also had one of the highest Wrestlemania buyrates ever with 1.2 million buys. The event was also the largest audience to assemble for a WWE event since SummerSlam 1992, which attracted 80,355 to Wembley Stadium in London, England. Aretha Franklin performed “America the Beautiful” at the start of the event, reprising her role from twenty years earlier at Wrestlemania III. Believe it or not this is the 5th consecutive Wrestlemania without an Intercontinental Championship match on the card and the 4th with the IC Champion being active on the card. Chris Benoit made his final Wrestlemania appearance when he defeated MVP to retain the United States Championship. Donald Trump made his third Wrestlemania appearance this time as apart of the show in the infamous Hair vs Hair match with Vince McMahon.

The Wold Heavyweight Championship match put The Undertaker’s 14 and 0 Wrestlemania streak against the champion Batista. After an exchange of several devastating attacks, including a Batista Bomb, Undertaker sealed his victory with a Tombstone Piledriver to keep his Wrestlemania streak alive. This was the fourth year in a row that the World Heavyweight Championship has changed hands at Wrestlemania. In the evenings final match Shawn Michaels took on John Cena for the WWE Championship this was Cena’s third year in a row competing for the WWE Championship in the main event. Like the previous two years John Cena would come out victorious bring his Wrestlemania record to 4 and 0.

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania 22

2440326.jpg

Tickets sold out in under two minutes for Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago, Illinois. Wrestlemania 22 marked the first Wrestlemania not to feature the winner of the Royal Rumble in the final match of the night since Wrestlemania XV in 1999. CM Punk made his Wrestlemania debut as one of the “gangsters” in John Cena entrance. Bobby Lashley also made his Wrestlemania debut in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

The World Heavyweight Championship match was a triple treat that featured Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and the champion Kurt Angle. This was Randy Orton’s first time competing in the main event at Wrestlemania. The match at just 9 minutes and 18 seconds was the shortest for a world championship in Wrestlemania history. Rey Mysterio pinned Randy Orton for the victory giving him his first World Heavyweight Championship.  Mysterio at only 5’8 and 165lbs would go down in history as the smallest World Heavyweight Champion in history. Because the pin fall was scored on Randy Orton this made the third time Kurt Angle would lose a championship at Wrestlemania without submitting or being pinned.

In the WWE Championship match Triple H faced off against the champion John Cena although Cena was being booked as a babyface the majority of the capacity crowd was against the WWE Champion. After 22 minutes and 2 second Cena forced Triple H to submit with the STFU. This was the second time Triple H would tap out in the main event at a Wrestlemania the previous time being against Chris Benoit at Wrestlemania XX.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Discussion: Edge vs Punk, Taker vs. Big Daddy V

I guess Lex is out of pocket right now(that means missing for all the white people out there) so I’ll take the liberty of putting up the Smackdown discussion post.

Finally our prayers have been answered, we get to see Big Daddy V’s bitch tits in high-definition when he faces The Undertaker also Finlay will do his best to make his Belfast Brawl match with The Great Khali something close to watchable. But even though the WWE doesn’t seem to be hyping it in any of their SD! ads, real main event will be Edge vs CM Punk in a non title match. Plus are we going to see any more Royal Rumble qualifying matches? Last I heard there were 6 spots left.

P.S.

Just as a side note MVP appeared on XM radio’s Opie & Anthony show this morning. It was a terrific interview MVP talked about spending 91/2 years in prison and how wrestling kept him from going back. He also talked about how is MVP gimmick was based on the arrogant athletes he saw while working as a bouncer in a Miami nightclub and how out of all of the athletes he encountered basketball player Stephon Marbury was the one he wanted to knock out the most. I will post the video or audio clips as soon as I can find them.

WWE Smackdown Discussion: Finlay v. Khali

Hopefully, Smackdown will be better this week than it was last week.

Tonight’s show features Finlay v. The Great Khali and Chavo Guerrero and Edge v. Rey Mysterio and CM Punk.

Discuss it here.

Botchamania 30

Here’s the latest in the Botchamania series. Lots of blown spots, several recent ones. I really can’t get enough of these. I also love seeing that Moscow of Chikara got included in this one.

Cyber Sunday Main Events Already Anounced, And More Save_Us.222 Crazyness

The WWE has already released info on Cyber Sunday’s main events and stipulations. The RAW main event will be Randy Orton(c) vs. Triple H no surprise here. We will be able to vote whether the match will be Hell in the Cell, a No DQ match, or a Falls Count Anywhere, I think we all know what’s gonna win out in this one. The SmackDown main event will be a Four Way match featuring Batista(c) vs. Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio vs. The Great Khali we will be able to vote on WWE.com on who will be the guest referee. The choices are JBL, Mick Foley, or Steve Austin once again we all know Austin gonna win but personally I wanna see JBL.

Also as Colin Classic pointed out in the “No Mercy” discussion if you go to WWE.com all the way at the bottom of the page underneath the corporate info link the is a link named “Save_us.222 | Savior_self” witch links to a Y2J video. I was unable to confirm this for sure because the browser I’m currently using doesn’t support embedded Windows Media but I’ll take his word for it.

Friday Night Smackdown on CNN(Finlay vs Marc Mero)
