More WWE Releases

Source WWE.com

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstars Stevie Richards and Colin Delaney, Raw tag team Robbie & Rory of The Highlanders, SmackDown Diva Cherry, and WWE referee Wes Adams as of Aug. 15, 2008. WWE wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.

Ok here are my views on these.

Stevie Richards- He usually jobs but I still liked him more than Hardcore Holly.

Colin Delaney- WHAT THE HELL? Why? He had a great gimmick going and he was over. I hope they do the same thing they did with the Boogieman a couple of years ago and resign him very soon cause he was entertaining to a point

The Highlands- Get rid of these Scottish stereotypes. They are not even Scottish, they are Canadians who were born in Scotland.  They are Canadian not Scottish, anyway, jobbers again so who cares?

Cherry- No Comment.

Wes Adams- Ref so who cares.

The PWBite Rant Episode 25: Live & Mother Fuckin Uncut

Episode 25 of the PWBite Rant is up. This is the longest episode ever mainly because I didn’t really edit out much due to time constraints. In our first Live broadcast Jade, El Nagual, Arron and I discuss the latest headlines which include Randy Orton’s re-injury, WWE’s latest round of releases, Mick Foley’s possible jump to TNA, and the lawsuit that Raven filed that could change the way TNA and WWE do business. I also give a review of TNA Hard Justice my first TNA live event and we make our picks for this Sunday’s Summer Slam PPV.

P.S.

Okay, so at the beginning of the podcast I go over all of this but I’ll do it again. First off I know the audio sucks even though I’ve done 25 of these things it’s still is a work in progress. Carlito Update- UWE or TNA Possibly?

I know this is put up nearly every month or so but anyway here’s the latest on the man who never follows through, Carlito. Source is the usual, Wrestlingattitude.com

Carlito’s long-term future with WWE appears to be in doubt again. While he’s worked a few live events, he still has yet to debut on television on SmackDown since the draft seven weeks ago.

Regarding a possible jump to TNA, he has supporters there as he has worked with booker Dutch Mantel in the past not to mention that the company is looking to expand to the Hispanic audience. Should he depart from WWE, Carlito should also do well in the U.S. indies as well as the NWE promotion based out of Europe featuring a slew of “name” stars.

Once again, he has talked with friends about a release from the company. In his homeland of Puerto Rico, he can do what he wants and be the top singles star in WWC. However, business isn’t too good at the moment and he’d be going from working in front of thousands of fans to a few hundred. The last time Carlito talked about departing from WWE, he had talks with the AAA promotion in Mexico about coming in as a full-timer, where he could be a top heel.

I wish Carltio would stop talking about it and actually do it. There is a difference between making threats and actually carrying it out. It’s not as if this is going to get him a push now is it. The first time, yeah he got a push. Second time, lets move him to Smackdown. The third time, who gives a crap. Let him go WWE. Who cares. This is boring and old now. GIVE HIM HIS RELEASE SO HE CAN GO TO TNA OR UWE. I really don’t care about him anymore, neither do the fans cause I don’t hear “We want Carlito” chants going.

Hardcore Holly’s Career in WWE Over?

From my usual Internet source Wrestlingattitude.com

Hardcore Holly’s WWE career is reported to be over soon. The 45-year-old wrestler has not been used in months and it would take someone such as the Undertaker to support him with management to keep him around. A downside to Holly remaining with the company is that the younger wrestlers have complained that he works too stiff. He was planned to work an angle with Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes where he was looking for revenge. A promo was shot with Holly that never aired because of his bad performance. Management felt that he would work stiff with DiBiase and Rhodes to make them look bad, so the program was cancelled.

To be honest, with news of more releases being made within the next few weeks, if Hardcore is announced to have left the company then this news isn’t surprising. To me Hardcore Holly is just a angry old man who doesn’t like the new guys coming in. I remember on Tough Enough that he beat someone up in a training match. That wasn’t cool then and it’s still not. I hope that he does go because, why do WWE still need him. He doesn’t put the younger guys over nor does he want to. He wasn’t that entertaining to watch in my opinion and I just don’t like him. I really don’t want him showing up in TNA in the next 3 months or so because that would be bad for buisness on their part. I think he should just retire cause I don’t want to see him on my TV anymore.

PS. Guy, check out my Youtube Channel for the heck of it. I’ve got some good tribute videos on there and a couple of random videos. SMVP’s Youtube Channel

WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: Check Out Kane’s Sack

On the heels of TNA’s “Hard” Justice (personally, I’d call it Limp/Flaccid Justice), it’s the big boys’ turn tonight as Raw comes to us live from a classic wrestling venue, the Richmond Coliseum. On tonight’s edition of Raw, we’ll get to find out exactly what Kane is carrying around in that bag of his.

Also, John Cena and Batista will defend their newly-won tag titles against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Jr., who have apparently exercised their rematch clause. I’m betting that the young kids get their titles back tonight.

Finally, we’ll find out what kind of match JBL and CM Punk will engage in at Summerslam. Since JBL propsed it, I’m assuming it’s a Texas Bullrope Match (yawn). Or, perhaps they’ll go TNA on us and give us a tuxedo bullrope where the winner must not only strip his opponent’s tuxedo off in a homoerotic manner, but also touch all four turnbuckles to win. *Editor’s note: Thanks to G1 for pointing out JBL’s “challenge” is probably referring to a beer drinking contest tonight on Raw. I’ll still leave my original statement, however, just because I find it funny.*

Discuss Raw here. And yes, I worked three very immature jokes into this post.

Ric Flair on leaving WWE

Ric Flair said he was forced to leave a $300,000 payday on the table when WWE prohibited him from appearing on a 30-city autograph signing tour of the old NWA promotions. “I just can’t leave money on the table anymore,” Flair told Charleston.net. He also stated that there are no hard feelings. “I’m 59 years old and I’ve never stood on my own two feet without wrestling,” he said. “I need to find out if I can. Vince (McMahon) can’t prop me up forever.”

Flair also praised WWE. “I want everybody in the world to know that I love and respect the WWE,” he continued. “They’ve helped me through so much of my life and have made me a better person. They recognized me and my family at Wrestlemania, and have propped me up and helped me as long as they can.” To read the full story, visit Charleston.net.

The story also noted that there is some buzz regarding a potential “dream match” between Flair and Hulk Hogan, but Flair said he intends to respect his retirement bout. I hope that’s the case. Hogan vs. Flair is no longer the dream match. In fact, most of those matches are bad memories for Flair, because Hogan scored the vast majority of the wins.

More importantly, Flair already had the ultimate sendoff. WWE came through with an amazing weekend with the Hall of Fame, his match with Shawn Michaels, and that amazing Raw sendoff. It’s worth noting that the Gillespie Agency, which represents Flair, also represents Mick Foley and Roddy Piper.

It seems he is leaving on good terms if anything so I think that Flair could make some special appearances in WWE over the next few years.

WWE Changes the date of Armageddon PPV in December

From Wrestlingattitude.com,

WWE has changed the date on their website for the Armageddon pay-per-view to December the 14th when the original date was listed for the 21st. The show will be held at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY.

The interesting thing is, TNA’s website lists their Turning Point pay-per-view as also being held on December the 14th. It would be very interesting to see TNA and WWE duke it out for pay-per-view buys but I’m guessing this is probably a typo or some kind of misunderstanding. Running against a WWE pay-per-view would be a horrible mistake for TNA but it would be cool to see the two end the year with something that’s never happened before.

If this wasn’t corrected, TNA would be for lack of a better word SCREWED SIDEWAYS. I don’t ever remember WWE having a PPV on the same day as WCW did. I can see why TNA decides to hold PPVs on the same day as UFC do because well it’s completely different but they would still lose out in the buy rates. But to compete with WWE on the same day would be suicide.

The PWBite Rant Episode 24: Stylin’ & Profilin’

Episode 24 of the PWBite Rant is up on time this week. Since Jade is on the run from Jenny McCarthy’s people it’s only Arron, El Nagual and myself. This week we talk about Ric Flair’s departure from WWE, the likelihood of Mick Foley resigning his contract, WWE’s injury list, Kaz’s new gimmick, and we talk about the now infamous Mike Levy incident(if you haven’t seen it yet check the video here). Also we go over the cards for UFC 87 and TNA’s Hard Justice PPV.

P.S.

Seeing as next weeks PWBite Rant will be episode number 25 which I consider a milestone I want to attempt to record it LIVE!!! via uStream or Stikam I haven’t decided which one yet. What this means is all of you will be able to hear and chat with us as we record Episode 25. I don’t have all the details worked out yet but the tentative plan is to do this next Wednesday, August 13 starting at around 8pm EST if this changes I’ll let you know. Also don’t forget my Twitter, Facebook and our email address:

WWE Releases Braden Walker a.k.a. Chris Harris

Well that was quick, this is breaking news so there’s not a lot info on it. All we know at this point is Chris Harris who just signed his WWE contract 5 months ago has been released from the WWE after only a few TV appearances. From WWE.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of August 7, 2008. WWE wishes Braden the best in all future endeavors.

No reason is given for the release but Harris’ relationship with the WWE started off rocky when he showed up to FCW over weight. I’m sure we will get more details on this in the coming hours/days.

More News On Mick Foley. Maybe Going To TNA

Once again for my very valuable news source Wrestlingattitude.com

As reported earlier, Mick Foley could be on his way out of WWE. Should he not re-sign with WWE, he would be immediately available to sign with TNA. However, there has been zero talk on the TNA side regarding the possibility of the addition of Foley, at least that we know of, but you’d have to think that they’d be very interested in his services should he become available.

Foley’s most recent WWE contract is actually as a result of TNA. In the summer of 2005, Foley told Vince McMahon that he had accepted a deal with TNA. The news made Vince McMahon pretty upset and he offered Foley a great deal to stay with World Wrestling Entertainment. However, their relationship was never really the same.

At the very least, should Foley depart WWE, he’ll definitely be more involved in the entertainment field. Some sources within the TV industry have discussed the possibility of Foley leaving WWE. Foley has had a few television projects floating around for development and pilot ideas on many occasions. There were also plans for him to do a quasi-reality show featuring his family, but was forced to drop it when he took the SmackDown announcing job. Internally, his future as the SmackDown color commentator still remains in question. There is definitely a good chance that his days as an announcer for SmackDown are numbered. Last week’s angle could have been done to write him off the show, but the indication given is that he would be back again. Foley enjoys working with Jim Ross, but isn’t particularly fond of Vince McMahon yelling at him over the headset while he’s doing commentary. It’s something all of of the announcers have to deal with, but it’s something new for Foley as he wasn’t treated in this manner as a performer.

I read in “The Hardcore Diaries” about him possibly going to TNA but there wasn’t a lot of detail in it about the deal where there or not he would have gotten a push like other former WWE Stars have had such as Jeff Hardy, Christian Cage or Kurt Angle. However, I would prefer him to commentary if that will be his role in TNA to Don West. Hell, why not sign Joey Styles if you can, then they will have a tolerable commentary team.

If he goes there to wrestle then it’s going to be a mistake. So depending on the circumstances if he was to sign then I would be happy for him to go to TNA if he does leave due to the working environment that Vince is getting him to work in. On top of Ric Flair leaving the company and now the possibility of Mick Foley. TNA could have two big marketable inactive/retired wrestlers on their team.

Plus, Foley does have some good ideas so if you don’t want him on camera, have him as a writer and Flair maybe as head writer because he knows how good and bad storylines work.

Mr Kennedy Injured AGAIN

SmackDown Superstar Mr. Kennedy suffered a dislocated shoulder during a match with Shelton Benjamin on Monday night in Macon, Ga., according to JRsbarbq.com.

Jim Ross noted that Kennedy is expected to be “out of action for a few weeks depending on the results of his latest MRI.”

My 5th topic today cause I have nothing better to do with my time and JSNWWF, NOW IT’S SEVEN. This is my one for the day and man does this suck. I remember in Lex’s interview with Nigel McGuinness he said that if something goes wrong then you “McGuinness’d it” well now it “Kennedy’d it” because this guy has nothing but bad luck.

Let’s look see.

He’s been out with a latissimus dorsi tear back in 05. He was out for six months.

An exposed cranium laceration, required 20 Stitches to close

A massive hematoma. Cost him the Money In The Bank and about 6 weeks of action

Suspended for thirty days in accordance with WWE’s Wellness Policy.

And now this. This is in the space of what, three years.

Hogan on Prinze Jr. Joining WWE

I am a posting machine at the minute. Anyway, The most credible new source in the world TMZ is reporting on a video of Hulk Hogan commenting on the Freddy Prinze, Jr. hire by WWE. After commenting on the divorce proceedings with Linda, Hogan said about Prinze:

“I think he’s probably just as qualified as everybody else up there that knows nothing about the art form of the business.”

OK then, this is coming from the man who comes back every six months to pad his pension because his wife is divorcing his ass. Hogan don’t you have better things to worry about then your former employers. I mean, your getting a divorce, your baby girl Brooke is going to be a centerfold for Playboy potentially and your son is in Jail for paralyzing a guy from the neck down but you still have time to comment on the new writer for WWE.

Mick Foley Leaving After Summerslam?

From my normal wrestling news source Wrestlingattitude.com

Mick Foley’s latest run with WWE could conclude at Summer Slam. His contract is set to expire soon and he’s uncertain whether he wants to move forward with his role as a Smackdown color commentator. There are some lingering bad feelings that stem from Vince McMahon coming down hard on Foley while producing him through the headsets one week back when Foley was still working with Michael Cole. Foley was so bothered by what McMahon said to him over the headsets that he called him later that night to discuss the situation.

Although the buzz is that Vince has toned things down while producing Foley since then, Mick is still bothered by the way he and other announcers have been produced. The ball is in Foley’s court in the sense that WWE wants him to re-sign, but he wants to know that he’ll have fun doing the job and won’t have to put up with Vince’s maniacal rants. Foley is expected to appear at Summer Slam in some capacity. That show is viewed as a possible end date for Foley if he chooses not to re-sign with the company.

There is a chance Foley won’t appear on television this week so that he can sell the angle he did with Edge that aired on Friday’s Smackdown. However, the Edge angle was not written with a possible blowoff in mind or to get him off television, and there is still a chance that he could appear on the show this week. A well-placed source said Foley will be at Summer Slam in some capacity, yet put the odds of him appearing beyond that show at 50-50.

Vince is notoriously tough on his broadcasters and the feeling is that Foley was never exposed to that side of his personality during his wrestling days. Foley is known as a sensitive guy and he took Vince’s harsh words personally. He’s saved his money over the years and the feeling is that he’ll walk away if he doesn’t feel like he’s in a positive work environment.

Damn It!!!!! I personally like Mick Foley on the commentary. He is a funny guy and that’s what I want in a Color Commentator. I like a guy who can make me laugh during a match.

My top 3 color Commentators are a heel Jerry Lawler, JBL and Mick Foley. I hope this isn’t the case and that he does sign because who else can they sign to a deal. I heard that Tazz was on Smackdown this week so Foley can play on the Edge attack last week but I don’t want Tazz every week. Maybe they can bring in Stone Cold as a color commentator if Foley leaves.
