WWE Night Of Champions Discussion: Y2J vs ???

Lex is dead……or on vacation or something so I’ll be taking over the “Official Discussion Posts” for the next two days. Tonight we have probably the most unpredictable PPV of the year WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions, every WWE title is on the line and a new WWE Diva’s Champion will be crowned.

Maybe the most interesting thing about this card is how much we don’t know. We don’t know who Chris Jericho will be wrestling for his Intercontinental Championship, we don’t know who Ted DiBiase Jr.’s tag team partners gonna be for his match against Cody Rhodes & Bob Holly and we don’t know who Natalya Neidhart will be facing for the new Diva’s title. What we do know is the probability of the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands is as close to 100 percent as you can get. Batista and Cena haters beware my only prediction for this PPV is one of those two will be carrying gold by the end of the night. Here’s the complete card for tonight or at least what we know so far:

  • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. John Cena
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Batista
  • ECW Championship: Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry
  • World Tag Team Championship: Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Ted DiBiase and ???
  • WWE Diva’s Championship: Natalya vs. ???
  • WWE Tag Team Championship: John Morrison and The Miz (c) vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle
  • WWE United States Championship: Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Mickie James (c) vs. Katie Lea Burchill
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. ???

Despite my comments on the last podcast I’ve decided to order this PPV. Why? Because when are we gonna have another WWE PPV were anybody could win and I’m a sucker, this is the same guy who’s gonna be in line on July 11th to drop 200 bucks on second iPhone because it has features that really should have included with the first one. What can I say Vince McMahon and Steve Jobs have hold of me there’s just no resisting.

BTW I don’t know why The Undertaker is on the official poster………and remember no posting over this until tomorrow…………

Smackdown! Discussion: Edge vs Matt Hardy

Tonights Smackdown! will see the debut of the announcing team of Mick Foley and Jim Ross that alone is worth tuning in to see. But not only do we get that we also have Edge vs Matt Hardy which because of Hardy’s move to ECW could be the last time we see this in a while. Here’s the full card for tonights Smackdown!:

  • Edge vs. Matt Hardy
  • Batista vs. Umaga
  • Kane & Big Show vs. Mark Henry & MVP
  • Fit Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
  • Maryse, Victoria & Natalya vs. Cherry, Michelle McCool & Kelly Kelly
  • Vladimir Kozlov vs. Domino

Vickie Guerrero, Triple H, Miz, John Morrison, and Rey Mysterio will also be appearing on the show.

ECW Discussion: Hardy and no Kane (I think)

Alright guys, on tonight’s eppisode of ECW we have no ECW champion (thechnecally because Kane is now on RAW and he took the title with him though he might make an appearence anyway…) but we do have a US champion-Matt Hardy.  We might get a promo from Big Show about how the title went to RAW or something

ECW Discussion: Kane/Show “Open Forum”

The only thing that is confirmed for tonight’s eppisode of ECW is that Show and Kane are going to have an “Open Forum”.  What that is actually going to consist of baffles me.  ECW has also hinted at a benjamin/kingston match as well as something with Sydal.

p.s. I just saw a comercial for hair recovery that had chavo G. in it lol no joke!

Smack Down! Discussion: Batista Contract Signing

I don’t think that posting this is posting over a discussion, but if it is then will someone please tell me?  anyway… on tonight’s eppisode of Smack Down! we have a contract signing for batista’s chance at the WHC at NOC, and from what I understand, we might have a confrontation between Show and Henry…

ECW Discussion

Alright guys… On tonight’s card we are going to have well there is nothing listed anywhere I checked (WWE.com, PW torch/ insiider, and Nodq.com), but if I had to guess, they might have Show or Kane cut a promo….. in other news… Sabu is injured and will not be on the card for his scheduled  June 7th match.

ECW Discussion

There has been a build in the recent week for the Big Show to do something on ECW… They have not specified what will happen (and I went to Pw-Torch, Pw-Insider, and Nodq.com and haven’t heard anything about the upandcomming ECW Card) Please post.

“The” Jsnwwf’s WM 24 review….and its bigger than Texas.

The” Jsnwwf’s Wrestlemania Review

This is long, so get ready to read. As JR would say, “Bye God, this is a Wrestlemania sized blog post”

580+ comments for a discussion= NEW PWB record, by more than double.

Lex, don’t change a think. I was thinking about this. I wasn’t there for the discussion because it would spoil me later watching the show, via internet, but still observed the discussion. If there was a chat, then comments wouldn’t be saved. With comments saved, its there in cement (figure of speech) for those missing the discussion and new PWB members to observe.

On to the show…

Let me say now, Howard Finkle, the only performer I believe to appear in every single Wrestlemania. Is he in the Hall of fame?

With low hopes for the PPV, I enjoyed it immensely. Having the WWE Title match come before the World Title match was a good move because the was little talk about the triple threat match. While the storyline between Edge and Undertaker sucked, it was guaranteed to be a better match.

Finlay vs JBL:

I was a bit surprised for this to starts the show because this was a “big” storyline, god bad. I what was even more shocking was Finlay actually losing. Who predicted this? Why? I thought for sure that Hornswoggle would dance at the end giving the show a feel good moment. Good match. Best parts of the match included Finlay with a suicide dive through the ropes and the part with JBL throwing a trash can into Hornswoggle’s face from inside the ring to the outside of the ring.

Great opening match, how often is the opening match at a WWE PPV this good?
Out of 10, give this a 6.5 overall.
—————————————————————————————–
MITB match:

lol at Coach being there and getting no mic time.
Great match. In fact this has to be the greatest MITB match, ever. The best athletes that WWE has to offer were in this, other than Noble, Wang, Kendrick, London, and Rey. Great spots including Benjamin killing himself, a Morrison moonsault (with ladder in hand), Morrison climbing an unset ladder then busting his balls, and both Carlito and CM Punk jumping from rope to ladder. The moment of the match had to go to Matt Hardy. I can still hear a ringing in my ear from that pop. Mixed chants of “HOLY SHIT!” and “THIS IS AWESOME!”

CM winning? Another one I didn’t see coming. He will definitely move to Smackdown or Raw if WWE has a Draft in the next weeks.
P.S. TNA a pathetic. Who the fuck would be looking up during the MITB match to miss a big spot? TNA = stupid. Noone could read that stupid sign anyway, idiots…
8.5/10
—————————————————————————————–
Batista vs Umaga:

”ZZzzzzzzzzz……….”
I expected a good match out of this. I was waiting for a “Boring!” chant. The finish was funny. Botchmania here we come. That’s the Batista we all remember.
2/10
—————————————————————————————–
Chavo vs Kane:

I’m SO glad that Kane gets a title reign.

11 sec. match. Good for Chavo. Its serves him right for doing drugs, AFTER Eddie died. I picked Dreamer to be in this, even though I wanted Kane to win. When will an ECW wrestler win the title? Kane is from Smackdown, just like Chavo.
5/10 because Kane won.
—————————————————————————————–
HBK vs Flair: Smackdown vs Raw match, oh wait…Flair is really a RAW guy, right?

Anyway…

Flair breaks out the ole’ school Flair tights. WOW! A FUCKING CLASSIC, from beginning to end. HBK almost dies in the first 3 minutes outside of the ring, but continues. Then moonsaults off the turnbuckle to the outside to have flair not catch him, ugh. HBK has 3 lives. Blown spot in the middle. Its ok, Flair, its ok.

Great “Struggling dog put to sleep” ending.

Austin said a few weeks ago that he has never seen HBK screw up. That got me thinking, has he ever, I mean other than with the super kick on numerous occasions(ladder match with razor wasn’t his fault)? The best wrestler ever, period.
8/10 Only HBK could have had that type of match with flair, well maybe Triple H or Taker, but that’s it.

Too bad Flair didn’t do “The Turnbuckle Spot.”
—————————————————————————————–
Great promo by Edge
—————————————————————————————–
Great Pyro
—————————————————————————————–
Bunny Mania:

LOL at this coming after HBK/Flair. It’s sad that Mickie and Victoria are on the sidelines. Don’t be surprised if you see them in TNA. “Ohh wee.” Ashley is fugly, ok?!!!?..with no ass, might I add…

How dead was the crowd? You could literally see people leaving to the bathroom. I wanted the crowd to cheer went the place went dark..Sting?
Lawler didn’t get his match, but I guess he got something.
I’m done with this…

WTF? Snoop and Maria? WWWWWWWHHHHHHAAAAA????
-0.34398439392934/10
—————————————————————————————–
HHH vs Orton vs Cena
I don’t care about this so it will be short.

Cena entrance was corny, without his theme. Who’s bad idea was that? The spotlight in dark made mania better in my view. LMAO at Orton only getting 8% of the votes.

I swear, as soon as I saw this go early, I said that Orton was retaining. Predictable PPV, huh? Orton will lose it to HHH tonight on RAW o at Backlash.

6/10 Other than the crowd, this match didn’t live up to….oh wait it did live up to the built up. Next.

So far everybody that I wanted to win, other than Shelton has won.

—————————————————————————————–
Big Show vs PBF(Pretty Boy Floyd)

Like I said, Mayweather has two guys taller than Big Show, SERIOUSLY! Oh, so that’s where the 20 million is going, to the fans that bought Mania tickets. Making it rain, outside. Lol. Ok, I laughed when Mayweather started singing his own theme song.

meh. 40-0.

Is it em or does it seem like ECW and Smackdown doesn’t exist? Lawler does the interpromotional match and Tazz/Joey do an 11 sec match. That’s it.

4/10 Damn, I was hoping for 50 Cent. I guess he just lied. wtf?
—————————————————————————————–
Main Event: Edge vs Undertaker

1st off, I would like to congratulate Edge on finally making a Wrestlemania Main Event. A long time coming.

Lol at Coaches first words of the Night, near the end. They must have had a mute button on him.

I havent seen Edge/Taker yet, but I have to leave for college classes.

good mania. In the top half, maybe.

Pop of the night:
Matt Hardy,
Flair
Orton winning.
Big Show
Heat of the night:
HBK
Cena
JBL
Floyd winning
Batista
Match of the Night(show stealer):
Money in the Bank,
Flair/HBK

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania XX

90576.jpg

Wrestlemania returned to “The World’s Most Famous Arena” with Wrestlemania XX this was the third time Madison Square Garden hosted the event. The United States Championship was defended for the first time in Wrestlemania history when Big Show faced off against John Cena who was making his Wrestlemania debut. As a result of a pre-match stipulation, Molly Holly had her head shaven clean by Victoria when she was unable to capture the Women’s Championship. The Rock made his very last appearance as a competitor in the WWE at Wrestlemania XX when he re-united the Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection in a Handicap Match against Evolution (Randy Orton, Batista and Ric Flair). After an extended absence, Paul Bearer returned to WWE at Wrestlemania XX when a accompanied The Undertaker to the ring for his match against Kane.

Chris Benoit had been waiting 18 years to finally get a shot at the World Championship after winning the Royal Rumble the then SmackDown! Superstar decided to jump ship to the RAW brand to face Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. Shawn Michaels interrupted the contract signing, though, and hit Benoit with the Sweet Chin Music. With Benoit knocked out, Michaels signed the contract. General Manager Eric Bischoff settled the controversy and made the match a Triple Threat Match. During the epic battle Triple H looked ready to lock in the Pedigree on Benoit but Benoit somehow reversed it into the Crippler Crossface, and with Michaels out on the floor, Triple H tapped out. This was Benoit’s second time winning the World Heavy Weight Championship but was his first and only time holding it since both the title and Benoit moved to the WWE.

WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: Cena & Orton v. The Raw Roster

I will hand it to the WWE: they avoided making their main event for this evening predictable. I’m sure everyone assumed (I certainly did) that it would be John Cena v. Randy Orton, but they’ve played it differently–Triple H has “booked” John Cena and Randy Orton to team up and take on the entire Raw roster.

Here’s what I see happening: Cena goes Superman, takes out Orton and the Raw roster, only to be put down by a Pedigree to the cheers of the crowd. Book it.

Tonight we’ve also got new IC champ Chris Jericho kicking off Raw with the Highlight Reel. His guest will be the Big Show…who I’m sure will be touting his butt-kicking of Money Mayweather last week on Raw.

That’s all the WWE has planned for now. Discuss Raw here.

Mayweather/Big Show Work Turns Shoot

According to reports from backstage at last nights Raw the scuffle between Floyd Mayweather’s posse and WWE talent was legit reports Mike Johnson of the Professional Wrestling Insider. Apparently there were some members of Mayweather’s posse that wanted to prove how tough they were and began to stiff some wrestlers. Some wrestlers went right back at them for a minute before order was finally restored. Shane McMahon was legitimately knocked down on the ramp. After the segment ended there was said to be a lot of tension between Mayweather’s posse and WWE superstars backstage. There is the possibility that this is false info being leaked by the WWE to draw smark fans in on the Mayweather gimmick. Regardless it may have been worth it Big Show tossing Floyd Mayweather out of the ring over the top rope on Raw was the #9 top play on ESPN’s SportsCenter, exactly what WWE wanted to happen.

Here’s the scuffle from last night again incase you missed it:

*Bonus Video* Mayweather counts to a million
